About M R Wools
M R Wools is an independent family run business that has been in operation since 1999. Wayne and Christine Harper want to work closely with all our growers to offer a personal and reliable service trading in all types of wool. No amount is too big or too small for us to handle. You can trust us to be fair in all your dealings with us, and we are able to provide a cost efficient and modern selling option to growers so they can receive the best possible returns for any wool entrusted to us to sell.
Why sell through us?
We are the only private wool buyer in the South Island equipped with a Cott opener, Panmack Scourer, blender, and dag crusher. The Cott opener loosens cotted fleece, while the Panmack Scourer sorts fiber into lengths to enhance quality and add value. Our dag crusher processes dag, seedy, and muddy oddments, enabling us to offer higher prices for these otherwise lower value wools. Additionally, the crushing plant dries the dag, increasing the wool yield and producing high-quality powdered sheep manure—ideal for gardens. For further details, please see Our Services.
